The Staff Accountant position plays a key role in assisting with the support of all positions in the accounting department. This role will be supporting the Controller and CFO in preparation of audits, reconciliation of accounts, back-up for other positions within accounting, special projects as needed or required.

Roles and Responsibilities

Cash Receipts Entry and Posting

Reconciliation of Bank Accounts

Preparation and Submission of Credit Applications

Preparation and Filing of Monthly Excise Tax Returns

Preparation and Filing of Monthly Workers Comp Reports

Weekly Remittance of Payroll Taxes, 401k, Garnishments, etc.

Preparation and Filing of Quarterly Payroll Reports

Preparation of Monthly/Quarterly Intercompany Billing

Month End, Quarter End, Year End Reconciliation of the General Ledger with Supporting Schedules

Backup Support for other Accounting Department Positions - Accounts Payable and Payroll

Qualifications

Minimum 3-year experience in Construction Accounting, preferably with a GC

Viewpoint/Vista construction software experience preferred

Strong foundational understanding of the general ledger and GAAP

Understanding of the full accounting cycle and function

Experience with Prevailing wage a plus

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to meet tight deadlines

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Solid interpersonal, communication, and prioritization skills

High level of organizational skills and the proven ability to handle multiple tasks

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment to accomplish department and job responsibilities

Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred or equivalent demonstrated experience

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
