Description

We’re looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, high performing Staff Accountant to join a growing Finance team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth GL experience, thorough understanding of accounting best practices and strong technical accounting knowledge. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the consolidated GL and full-cycle close process. This position shall drive best practices to ensure that Rently has the systems, processes and procedures in place to support a timely financial close and to scale with the Company’s growth initiatives. This position reports to the Global Accounting Manager and will have regular interactions across the US, China and India organization.

Responsibilities
• Assist with preparation of accounting close and consolidated GL ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
• Support accounting integration and consolidation, including assisting in integration of accounting systems and accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Identify process improvement and assist in the implementation of related process and controls
• Establish, prepare, and maintain sub-ledger reconciliations
• Prepare, enter, and determine assigned journal entries as well as miscellaneous accruals and adjustment journal entries within the 5-day period end closing timeline
• Prepare mid-month and month-end reports as well as various ad-hoc reports (accounting schedules and analyses)
• Reconcile and balance intercompany accounts
• Assist with the external/internal quarterly and year-end financial audits
• Review and ensure compliance with Sales and Use Tax reporting
• Ad hoc responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience including Big 4 or large regional CPA firm (required)
• BA/BS in Accounting (required); CPA or progress toward certification (preferred)
• Strong verbal and communication skills
• Moderate to advanced Excel skills (beyond vlookups and Pivot tables)
• Collaborative, flexible, adaptable, team-focused work style
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Able to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP accounting and reporting requirements
• Prefer experience within SAAS, manufacturing and/or IoT companies with strong understanding of related accounting policies (ASC 606, inventory, and software development)
• Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce desired
• Strong analytical ability with a natural tendency toward inquisitiveness
• Demonstrated performance of accounting research, conducting investigations and/or studies sufficient to recommend change in accounting policies, practices, and procedures as well as preparation of technical accounting memos

For applicants located in California, the salary range for this full-time role is expected to be $65,000-$75,000 annually. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Rently reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications, and that the expected salary range may be different for candidates located outside of California.
