The UEP Group is now hiring a Staff Accountant to join our Management Services company to support our strategic growth plans. The ideal candidate for this role needs to feel comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. You must be able to effectively liaise internally with team members as well as with outside stakeholders when necessary.

Summary of Position:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Staff Accountant ensures that the accounting department is running smoothly by managing cash flow and paying vendors and suppliers for the organization and its affiliates. Helps process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The Staff Accountant will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners.

Job Overview/Responsibilities:

Accounting Operations
• Manage and oversee enterprise-wide accounting functions, including month-end close, general ledger maintenance, and financial audits.
• Assist in the preparation and presentation of Financial Statements.
• Record all Credit Card transactions.
• Record and pay employee Expense Reports.

Accounts Payable
• Prepare and manage Accounts Payable, including manufacturer/vendor bills and comparison with purchase orders.
• Review invoices for appropriate documentation before payment.
• Process vendor payments, especially for invoices over $30k or those that are the oldest due.
• Prepare the Accounts Payable section of the Weekly Cash Forecast.
• Record payables, including scanning and filing documents into proper cloud folders.

Accounts Receivable
• Work closely with Accounts Receivable to prepare manufacturer invoices for payment.
• Create client invoices by class and job.
• Enter and deposit client payments via bank scanner or credit card.
• Conduct collection calls weekly.
• Request new client credit applications and review trade references.

Financial Systems & Process Improvement
• Support the company and its affiliates in optimizing financial transactions and systems.
• Strengthen and grow relationships with vendors and suppliers through timely payments.
• Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process.
• Provide guidance on improving office and accounting infrastructure, enhancing process efficiency, and scaling systems as the business grows.
• Continue building out and documenting departmental processes, implementing control recommendations, and regularly evaluating and modifying them.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

· 2-3 years of accounting experience, including financial statement preparation, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger maintenance.

· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

· Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and provide solutions.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in preparing financial reports and interacting with vendors and internal departments.

· Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to handle multiple tasks.

· High integrity and confidentiality in managing financial information, with a commitment to accuracy.

· Experience with process improvement and the ability to recommend enhancements to financial systems and procedures.

· Knowledge of national and local financial regulations and compliance requirements; familiarity with tax regulations is a plus.

· Work is primarily in an office environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
