Milkshake Concepts is an experiential hospitality group redefining the industry with their multifaceted restaurants and nightlife.
The position ‘Accountant’ has both traditional accountant job duties like data entry, reconciliation, and financial reporting along with supporting the full payroll cycle, including calculating employee earnings, deductions, taxes, and ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, while adhering to all relevant regulations and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
Collect, verify, and input employee time and attendance data into the payroll system.
Calculate employee gross pay, including commissions, bonuses, and overtime.
Ensure minimum wage guidelines are adhered to along with tax reporting and overtime calculations.
Withhold federal, state, and local income taxes, social security, and Medicare taxes.
Manage workers compensation program
Process various payroll deductions such as health insurance, retirement contributions, and loan repayments.
Generate and distribute paychecks or direct deposits.
Prepare and file payroll tax returns with appropriate agencies.
Payroll Recordkeeping:
Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including changes in pay rates, deductions, and tax information.
Reconcile payroll reports to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Update and maintain payroll system with new hires, terminations, and changes to employee information.
General Accounting Duties:
Team with outsourced accounting team to ensure that the financial transactions related to payroll in the general ledger are accurate and timely.
Review posted journal entries for payroll accruals.
Assist with weekly financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
Answers accounting questions and provide answers to ownership and operations
Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
