The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Controller, overseeing all facets of accounting such as AP/AR, month-end close, reconciliations, etc., ensuring operations align with the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and process customer invoices with accuracy and timeliness.
• Track and follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely collections.
• Prepare and execute bank deposits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up to date.
• Administer payroll, including tax calculations and benefits management.
• Calculate, file, and remit sales tax in accordance with state and local regulations.
• Perform reconciliations of key accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing necessary reports and reconciliations.
• Manage inventory accounting, including necessary adjustments and reporting.
• Collaborate with the Controller and management in budgeting and forecasting activities, including departmental overhead, material costs, direct labor, payroll, capital expenditures, and cash flow.
• Aid the Controller with reporting on departmental overheads, comparing budgeted versus actual expenses.
• Oversee accounting for fixed assets, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Support the Controller with various internal and external audits as required.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management, consistent with the company's business plan.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of accounting processes within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to network effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
• Capable of independent problem-solving and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
