Staff Accountant

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Customer Billing

• Collection of Receivables

• Bank Deposits

• General Ledger administration

• Payroll, Payroll Tax and Benefits

• Sales Tax

• Reconciliations of significant accounts

• Month End and Year End close processes

• Accounting for Inventory (including appropriate adjustments)

• Assist Controller and management with Budgeting and Forecasting

• Assist Controller with department overhead reporting (budget vs. actual)

• Fixed Asset Accounting

• Assist Controller and management with Budgeting and Forecasting (Department Overhead, Material, Direct Labor, Payroll, Capital Expenditures, Cash Flow)

• Assisting the Controller with various audits

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Associate Degree in Accounting or two years plus of relevant bookkeeping experience

• Understanding of and experience with the workflow of accounting process in a manufacturing environment

• Computer literate and proficient with QuickBooks and MS Word and Excel

• Personable, self-confident, and able to network effectively with all employees

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills

• Independent at problem-solving

• Manage multiple tasks

• Strong attention to detail

• Knowledge of accounting functions and procedures

• Ability to work in a high-volume fast-paced environment

• Ability to meet frequent deadlines and tight schedules

• Proficient with Microsoft Excell, Microsoft Access and PowerPoint

• Prior experience working at a defense contractor or automotive industry

• Experience with Wide Area Work Flow (DoD Billing System)

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT REQUIRED:

Experience in accounting for a manufacturing environment and government.
