About the Role:

We are seeking a Staff Accountant who can multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines. The position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced work environment. This position is responsible for all general accounting tasks. These tasks include, but are not limited to, account reconciliation and analysis, determination of accruals and proper treatment of transactions in accordance with US GAAP within a manufacturing environment, processing and recording transactions to ensure accurate accounting and reporting, and document filing and maintenance.

How you’ll make a difference:

Gather necessary supporting documentation to enter journal entries into the general ledger accounting system

Prepare monthly reconciliations for our cultivation, manufacturing and dispensary operations such as cash, prepaids, A/R, A/P, etc.

Create, maintain and use sophisticated, organized spreadsheets, to calculate related journal entries and/or perform analysis

COGS accounting, including allocation of overhead

Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements, including subjective accounting areas that require strong analytical skills as a basis for reconciling differences and resolving issues

Work closely with the manufacturing team(s) to conclude on the accurate coding and reporting for activities performed and goods purchase for with regards to cost accounting treatment

Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial analysis reports

Daily cash tracking

Perform ad-hoc projects as assigned

Skills to be Successful:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration required or minimum of two years’ experience in accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory and general ledger

Manufacturing and/or retail accounting experience a plus

Experienced in the use of accounting software, working knowledge of SAP a plus

Additional Qualifications:

Strong ability to use MS Office packages, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Strong ability to communicate in writing and speaking, as well as solid organizational skills

Detail-oriented with excellent ability to analyze and interpret data

Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively in a team environment and to meet crucial deadlines

Must have ability to work independently and to think critically to improving organization’s processes

Knowledge of US GAAP

Annual compensation commensurate with experience from $80,000 - $120,000, plus potential bonuses effective January 2025

Schedule:

This position regularly works normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. This position does require evening and weekend work depending on the event schedule. Please confirm with the supervisor regarding the expected working schedule.

This position is exempt from overtime pay due to administrative employee exemption.

This position will frequently work in the field traveling to dispensaries, pop-up events, and other marketing and promotional events. The ability to drive the company sprinter van, sometimes long distances, is required. This position will work 90% in the field traveling to dispensaries, pop-up events, and other marketing and promotional events. Must have access to a secure home office-type environment with use of computers, virtual meetings, internet, email, and phone.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently is required to set up heavy equipment, move boxes, and other materials as needed. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Lift and carry folding tables, bins of merchandise, tents, and banners. Must be able to stand and talk with others for up to 4 hours at a time. Must have ability to travel using own transportation, occasionally for long distances.
