JOB DESCRIPTION/SUMMARY
This position is responsible for monthly general accounting functions of accounts payable/accounts receivable/payroll and administrative tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute daily and weekly responsibilities pertaining to AP and AR. Also assists with administrative tasks as requested.
- Performs various general accounting functions including invoice and expense reimbursement coding, monthly transaction reconciliation, monthly GET filings, EFT payments, payroll administration, and 401k administration.
- Review and process monthly accounts payable runs.
- Code invoices (AR and AP) to proper accounts.
- Approve weekly and biweekly payroll to 3rd party administrator.
- Assist with 401k/ Fringe Benefit calculation and reporting.
- Assist in preparing weekly AR aging.
- Communicate with clients and carry out collections on a regular basis.
- Oversee monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Review and approve GET filing.
- Scan and maintain accounting documents on servers.
- Assist in evaluating, recommending, maintaining, and monitoring appropriate internal controls and procedures.
- Respond to client inquiries, requests, issues, and problems in a professional and efficient manner. Includes other service providers such as CPA, bank, outsourced partners, etc.
- Assists with preparation of management reporting, including month end financials.
- Serves as back-up for preparing internal invoices in accounting system.
- Serves as back-up for other Administrative personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Candidates with at least 3 years of accounting experience will be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business, preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, accounts receivable, financial chart of accounts, Hawaii GE taxation, and corporate procedures.
- Ability to work on concurrent assignments and meet deadlines timely, with a high degree of accuracy.
- Genuine team player with an all-hands-on-deck mentality.
- Proficient in Excel, Word and QuickBooks (Desktop or Online).
- Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
