Staff Accountant
Indian Payroll and Accounting
Compensation: ₹6 LPA – ₹7 LPA
Job Summary:
As a Staff Accountant, you will be essential in ensuring our financial accuracy and integrity. Your duties will include monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, financial transaction recording, preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and filing tax returns.
You'll collaborate with various departments, assist with budgets and forecasts, and participate in special projects. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, along with strong analytical and communication skills, will be crucial in supporting our financial operations and organizational goals.
Areas of Responsibility and Duties:
• Completing monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Reconciling and posting merchant fee statements
• Reconciling 3rd party payment processors
• Filing and recording documents and receipts
• Recording financial transactions and ensuring the accuracy of financial records
• Preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
• Assisting with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
• Maintaining fixed assets and amortizing accruals
• Monitoring and reconciling accounts payable and receivable
• Preparing and filing tax returns and other government reports
• Providing financial analysis and reporting to management as needed
• Analyzing financial statements to identify trends, variances, and significant changes
• Conducting ratio analysis, trend analysis, and variance analysis
• Collaborating with departments to ensure policies are followed and questions are addressed
• Participating in special projects as needed
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent certification
• Associate degree in Accounting or Business field
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with QuickBooks strongly preferred
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to learn and adapt to new software and tools
• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience (education or coursework may be accepted in lieu of experience)
