The application deadline is Tuesday, September 17, 2026 by 11:5+ p.m. (EST). This is an MEP pay grade 16 position. • Two (2) Professional Letters of Recommendation signed or electronic signature and dated within the last 12 months (one year) of the application. References must be from a person who can assess your ability as an administrator or your work ethic and character. Letters of recommendation must include the name, signature and contact information for the person completing the reference.

Conferred Transcripts with a Graduation Date: Current M-DCPS employees do not need to submit official transcripts if highest degree earned is on file in the Office of Personnel Records (305-++5-7258). For external candidates, official transcripts will be required if you are recommended for the position. Your degree must be from an accredited university. If the position does not require a college degree, you are required to have at least a high school diploma. Candidates with academic training and degrees granted outside the U.S. must submit a credential evaluation report that includes a statement of degree equivalency from an accredited agency in the U.S.

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

Analyzes, monitors, executes and reconciles all accounting, payroll, accounts payable disbursements and internal control functions to properly safeguard School Board assets. Prepares financial reports to meet the internal and external reporting requirements to provide information to internal and external auditors and complies with federal, state, local requirements and School Board policies and requirements.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

1. Under direct supervision, executes specific functions of the accounting operation.

2. Reviews and approves requisitions, purchase orders, and vouchers applicable to the department.

3. Under direct supervision, analyzes, monitors and compiles financial information and reports.

4. Under direct supervision, applies and uses federal, state and local requirements and School Board polices and requirements.

5. Utilizes computer software applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Access.

6. Performs other duties related to general administrative responsibilities of the position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This work requires the following physical activities: sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance or five (5) years of experience in related field.

2. Proficient word processing and spreadsheet skills and demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

3. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
