We, at ThoughtSpot, are looking for a passionate and experienced Staff Engineer with a proven track record of being industry visionaries to join the team responsible for building ThoughtSpot's natural language relational search engine, personalised data exploration engine, universal object search engine, AI powered ranking and relevance engine, distributed in-memory search indexing infrastructure and much more.

Responsibilities
Architect and develop systems, methodology, novel architectures, and benchmarks powering ThoughtSpot's search engine
Design and implement scalable backend systems that process and manage large volumes of customer data
Analyse and improve the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our backend systems
You will be a hands-on engineer, with a customer-centric mindset, responsible to design, build, and drive the backend systems
Provides guidance in the investigation and solution of complex problems affecting overall system architecture of projects
Work with diverse, cross-functional teams of designers, UX researchers, engineers, product managers in a fast, collaborative process
Drive Internal/external visibility for ThoughtSpot through panels, patents, papers, talks, blog posts, and open source.
Provide technical leadership and mentor and grow people in your team to be more productive and grow as engineers.
Required Skills/qualifications
Strong coding skills with ++ years of experience in modern languages
Exceptional expertise in one or more areas of search, distributed systems, AI/ML, NLP, personalization, Recommender Systems and are known for major innovation and creativity in these areas
Have the ability to write clean, effective code is a must and drill deep on technical implementation
Have experience working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
Good understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and availability
Strong problem-solving skills, algorithmic thinking, and a strong foundation in how systems work
Experience in designing and developing scale-out, high-performance data platforms is a plus
