Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be familiar with relevant Michigan regulations and have at least 3-5 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry

A bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or equivalent

Three to five years of related project/environmental engineering experience

Knowledge of Michigan’s Part 213, LUST program, program guidance, and environmental regulations

Proven experience in environmental consulting with a focus on LUST projects

Experience with both active as well as in-situ remediation of soil, groundwater, and vapor media

Excellent communication, analytical, organization and time management skills

Ability to meet project deadlines and established budgets

Must be detail-oriented and a team player

A valid driver’s license is required

Ability to work in various settings and climates

Ability to work flexible hours and be available for some travel

Ability to stand, stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Ability to frequently lift to 20 pounds

Responsibilities

In this role you will learn about the business, build your own professional network and work closely with senior professionals in the industry

Technical Lead for Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) as well as remediation and redevelopment projects, primarily in Michigan

Development of remediation work plans, remedial options evaluation, pilot testing, remediation design, and implementation of remediation strategies and technologies

Development of conceptual site models for remediation sites

Assist with engineering design of vapor intrusion mitigation systems

Report writing, data management and evaluation, project management, and coordination

Some site visits and occasional field work (aquifer testing, pilot testing, remediation system startup oversight, etc.)

Some client, regulator, and stakeholder interaction

A Day in the life of Staff Engineer

• Technical Lead for Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) as well as remediation and redevelopment projects, primarily in Michigan.

• Development of remediation work plans, remedial options evaluation, pilot testing, remediation design, and implementation of remediation strategies and technologies.

What you bring to the Pinchin team

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.

• Three to five years of related project/environmental engineering experience.

• Knowledge of Michigan’s Part 213, LUST program, program guidance, and environmental regulations.

• Proven experience in environmental consulting with a focus on LUST projects.

• Experience with both active as well as in-situ remediation of soil, groundwater, and vapor media.
