A professional who provides emotional support and play-based interventions to children in a hospital setting to help manage stress and anxiety.
Key skills needed for a child hospital job: Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children and their families Patience and understanding when dealing with young patients who may be anxious or scared Strong clinical knowledge of pediatric diseases, developmental stages, and appropriate treatments Ability to adapt to different situations and respond quickly to emergencies Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
