Responsibilities
The role reports to a Technical Manager and works with System Engineers, Operations Engineers, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners
As a member of an agile scrum team, the Staff Software Development Engineer will work on a cross-functional team on the next gen, Cloud-based, ground system software
The team member will provide on-schedule, high quality, operational and test code adhering to designs, acceptance criteria and corporate standards, with appropriate demonstrations and documentation
As a seasoned Backend Java Engineer, you will provide support for less experienced engineers and guide software development standards and practices for the greater DARS organization
Software design and development of operational code of new features and defect repairs
Develop automated unit and functional tests
Demonstration and documentation of functionality and test results
Troubleshoot operational issues
Support deadlines and communicate issues/results
Participate in Communities of Practice for adherence and improvement of best practices

The software engineering group for this position is responsible for the Direct Access Ground System (DAGS) domain of the Maxar Ground System for our constellation of earth observation satellites. The DAGS domain, within the Direct Access Remote Systems (DARS) organization, is a critical interface between the Maxar Ground System and our Direct Access customers around the world. Basic Qualifications

• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Aerospace and/or Satellite Ground Systems
• Experience with test automation languages/frameworks: Cucumber, Gherkin
• Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
• Familiarity with micro-service architectures and technologies (e.g., Spring Boot).
• Familiarity with Spring Framework and associated annotations.
• Experience with SQL/databases

$+8,000.00 - $164,000.00 annually.
