Staff Database Engineer
Overview
Come join the t4i Core Finance team at Intuit to help us manage & scale our database infrastructure. Team plays a critical role and delivers the core finance capabilities. Team is looking for a passionate engineer with strong experience in Oracle database technologies and other Cloud Native database technologies in particular on AWS. This position will be responsible for designing, building and managing enterprise level database systems with complex inter dependencies, high availability, disaster recovery, security, performance, scalability and cost optimization requirements.

Qualifications
Bachelor or Master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field
10+ years of hands-on development & operational experience with Oracle, Postgres and other data technologies
Hands-on experience in implementation and maintenance of Oracle applications including the database and application administration
Hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate and other replication technologies
Extensive experience in setting up and managing cloud databases on AWS
Extensive performance monitoring, troubleshooting & tuning experience
Experience with data modeling for OLTP and/or data warehousing
Experience with AWS RDS and hands-on knowledge of hosting on cloud
Experience with scripting languages for DevOps automation and writing tools & services (Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Shell Scripts, Python or Java).
Knowledge of Oracle Application administrator is a plus
How you will lead
Responsibilities
Design, implement and maintain complex database systems supporting multi million customers
Resident expert in data security, highly availability, database scalability, capacity planning, complex query tuning, monitoring and incident response
Collaborate with multiple functional teams to coordinate database changes adhering to best practices in an agile development environment
Contribute to infrastructure changes to AWS with deep understanding of AWS services
Database administration, upgrade, patching and other regular maintenance activity
Configure and manage complex data replication environments using GoldenGate, Active datagaurd.
Diagnosis and troubleshooting of various Database, GoldenGate issues
Collect, analyze and tune top resource consuming queries by applying various tuning techniques
Contribute to major system upgrades, deployment automation, monitoring enhancements and production changes
Ability to create operational playbooks, contribute to how-to articles, and gain domain knowledge to drive changes in the team
Manage the daily production support team and incident response responsibilities
Participate in learning new opportunities in particular on Oracle Financials.
