Responsibilities
Develop and debug enhancement to Java Virtual Machine to improve performance on various hardware platforms
Develop enhancements to security protocols implementations
Develop and contribute fixes to OpenJDK projects on issues found by users and internal QA team
Backport fixes/enhancements from OpenJDK to company's Platform Core
Identify and analyze performance issues, review documents regarding releases, and perform other duties, as required
Develop Hotspot JIT compiler and JVM intrinsics for embedded platforms
Develop patch requests for OpenJDK project and confirm accuracy during review process
Add new algorithms and extensions to TLS protocol
Develop Java runtime monitoring services with very low overhead
Develop secure communication protocols (HTTPS, SSL/TLS/DTLS)
Develop custom security providers

The Role
Azul is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (Enhancements/JVM) who will design and develop company's Platform Core enhancements, incl. developing enhancements to network TLS protocol implementation and developing software components for a runtime services feature.
The Staff Software Engineer (Enhancements/JVM) position is based out of our offices in Sunnyvale, CA but may be assigned to various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Remote work/work at home may be permitted.
The Responsibilities
• Develop and debug enhancement to Java Virtual Machine to improve performance on various hardware platforms.
• Develop enhancements to security protocols implementations.
• Develop and contribute fixes to OpenJDK projects on issues found by users and internal QA team.
• Backport fixes/enhancements from OpenJDK to company's Platform Core.
