Core Technical Competencies
As a Staff Level Machine Learning Engineer, you are expected to excel in the following areas. While not all criteria are mandatory, alignment with these competencies is highly valued:
Essential Skills:
• Advanced expertise with deep learning libraries such as PyTorch, Jax, or TensorFlow, demonstrated through substantial professional experience
• Proven track record in high-impact software or model engineering, with significant contributions evidenced by publications, patents, or advanced degrees
• Mastery of data pipeline architecture and optimization for large-scale machine learning systems
• Extensive experience with large-scale model training, including debugging and optimizing TPU/GPU models, model parallelism, and kernel languages (e.g., CUDA, Triton, Pallas)
• Deep expertise in fine-tuning open-source models, particularly large language models (LLMs)
• Advanced knowledge of training and deploying models on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
• Proficiency in generative modeling, especially in the audio domain
• Strong programming skills in C/C++

The compensation package for this role includes a competitive base salary, equity, and benefits. The starting base salary range is $150,000 - $300,000, with variations based on experience, achievements, and other factors evaluated during the hiring process.
