Learn more at diligent.com or follow us on LinkedIn and Facebook Position Overview As a Staff Software Engineer, your primary task involves developing resilient, scalable, and well-protected microservices that drive our SaaS platform, simplifying governance for our clients. You'll harness the complete capabilities of AWS and concentrate on constructing Serverless solutions, which may involve creating entirely new services or aiding in the migration of existing ones to a Serverless framework, predominantly using Node.js and TypeScript. As an integral member of our central governance units, your team assumes complete ownership of their services, spanning the entire lifecycle from coding to deployment and ongoing monitoring. Additionally, you'll consistently showcase your progress to the entire department through regular demonstrations. Key Responsibilities Designing and developing web applications using the MERN stack components. Responsible to prepare high-level technical design artifacts for platform-level initiatives Develop high-quality code (e.g. adhering to SOLID principles) with plenty of tests and observability baked-in. Implement secure and scalable solutions using AWS serverless technology. Monitoring application performance and responding to incidents Optimize your team's development, and delivery experience, so you and your team can be as productive as possible and regularly deploy to production. Optimizing application performance by identifying and addressing bottlenecks in the codebase. Implementing techniques like lazy loading, code splitting, and caching to improve user experience. Technical owner of Epics of all sizes, sometimes involving more than one workstream. Should be able to lead technical architecture and implementation of platform-level initiatives Responsible and dependable to take on challenging tasks with minimal supervision Work in a collaborative environment where you regularly pair, plan, and execute tasks as a team and strive to optimize your team's Lead Time, Deployment Frequency, Mean-time-to-recovery, and Change Failure Rate. Actively participate in enhancing processes by consistently offering improvement suggestions during team retrospectives. Independently manage your deliverables in JIRA without others' involvement. What you need to succeed Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Math, or a related field. 7+ years of professional experience delivering secure applications in an agile environment. Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs using NodeJS and/or TypeScript in Open API specifications. Proficiency in React.js and modern JavaScript to build interactive and responsive user interfaces. Experience with AWS services, CDK/Terraform is a must. Experience working with Docker in development. Hands-on experience in C++/Ruby on Rails/Python is a plus.
