Job Title: Staff/Principal Engineer - Application

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Technical Architect (Staff/Principal Engineer - Application) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will work closely with an Engineering Manager and be responsible for one or more software products. The Technical Architect will provide leadership, architectural guidance, and technical expertise to ensure the successful design and implementation of our solutions.
Responsibilities: Technical leadership:
● Collaborate with the Engineering Manager, Product Managers and cross-functional teams to establish technical vision and drive product development efforts.
● Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and support to foster professional growth and development
● Lead design and code reviews to ensure high-quality code and adherence to best practices
● Drive technical innovation and contribute to the development of coding standards
● Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
Architecture: ● Design and architect software products and solutions using AI/ML technologies, cloud platforms, and integration tools.
● Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and reliable technical solutions.
● Develop architectural designs, technical specifications, and implementation plans to guide the development team.
● Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to meet project requirements, considering factors such as scalability, cost, and performance.
● Ensure adherence to architectural best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines. Technical Assessment:
● Conduct technical assessments of existing systems, technologies, and architectures to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
● Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and recommend innovations to enhance our products and processes.
● Provide technical expertise and guidance in evaluating third-party libraries, frameworks, and services for integration into our solutions.
Project Management:
● Coordinate with engineering managers and developers to ensure alignment between technical architecture and project timelines and milestones.
● Provide technical leadership during project planning, execution, and delivery phases.
● Participate in project progress meetings and identify potential technical risks or roadblocks, providing mitigation strategies as needed.
Documentation and Communication:
● Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design documents, and API specifications.
● Communicate technical concepts and decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
● 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on architecture and design.
● Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS), Azure (Azure Functions, Blob Storage, Virtual Machines), or GCP (Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Compute Engine).
● Proficiency in Python and related libraries/frameworks such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
● Strong knowledge of data engineering technologies including ETL tools (Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, Google Dataflow), data warehouses (Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake), and big data platforms (Hadoop, Apache Kafka, Apache HBase).
● Experience with integration tools and technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, MuleSoft, or AWS Step Functions.
● Familiarity with asynchronous and synchronous integration patterns and frameworks (RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets).
● Proficiency in backend and server-side technologies such as: ○ Web frameworks: Flask, Django ○ Messaging protocols: HTTP, AMQP ○ Database systems: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle), NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB) ○ Caching systems: Redis, Memcached ○ Serverless computing: AWS Lambda, Azure Functions ○ Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
● Knowledge of microservices architecture and design principles.
● Experience with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines.
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
