Door Helper Job Description
A Door Helper, often referred to as a Door Person, Door Attendant, or Doorman, plays a crucial role in managing the entrance of a building or venue, providing security, assistance, and hospitality to guests, residents, or customers.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and welcome guests, residents, or customers as they enter and exit the premises, creating a positive first impression.
Open and close doors for guests and assist with carrying luggage, packages, or other items.
Check and verify identification or access credentials to ensure authorized entry.
Manage deliveries by signing for packages and directing delivery personnel to the appropriate recipients.
Assist with transportation arrangements such as calling taxis or coordinating valet parking.
Monitor the entrance area for security purposes, including observing suspicious behavior and reporting hazards or incidents.
Provide directions, information, and assistance to guests or residents regarding the building, services, or local area.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the entrance, lobby, and surrounding areas.
Support emergency procedures by cooperating with first aiders, security personnel, and emergency services.
Occasionally perform additional tasks such as running errands, assisting with luggage carts, or helping individuals with disabilities.
Skills and Qualifications
Friendly and professional demeanor with strong communication skills.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods, open heavy doors, and lift or carry items.
Attention to detail and reliability.
Basic knowledge of safety protocols and security equipment.
Customer service orientation and ability to handle conflicts calmly.
Previous experience in hospitality, security, or customer service is advantageous but not always required.
Ability to remain alert and observant to maintain safety and security.
