SALARY: 1,704.12 - 1,+52.34 pw + Super + Leaseback vehicle

Work Type: Permanent Full Time

Camden Council’s Public Affairs team is on the lookout for a passionate and results driven Stakeholder Engagement Officer. Mainly focused on managing our online consultation platform, you will also be responsible for planning and managing engagement activities that provide opportunities for a range of stakeholders to participate in the decision-making processes of Council.

Essential:

Relevant qualifications and/or experience in Community Engagement, Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences or another related field.

Demonstrated ability to develop and manage community engagement activities tailored to audience needs.

Experience in content management of websites including the use of online consultation platforms.

Demonstrated knowledge of traditional and emerging community engagement approaches

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills including the ability to adapt styles to suit various mediums and diverse target audiences.

Strong customer liaison, conflict resolution and negotiation skills

Demonstrated data management, problem solving and analytical skills.

Experience in prioritising multiple projects with competing deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to exercise high levels of autonomy, while at the same time working effectively in a team-based environment that is outcomes focused

Working with Children Check

Current Class C Driver’s Licence

Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WHS and ethical practice principles and to act with probity at all times.

Desirable:

IAP2 Certificate of Engagement

Knowledge of local government policies and practices

Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the unique engagement challenges that need to be addressed when operating in culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

To meet Council’s WHS requirements and in accordance with Council’s Covid-1+ Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-1+ or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication. If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs.
