About the Role:
The Scientific Officer works closely with a team of professionals to deliver Agency priority projects and programs related to Freshwater, River Murray and Coorong Science, and contributes to the provision of ecological advice and services to inform environmental decision-making in South Australia. The role is primarily responsible for collating, analysing, and interpreting complex scientific data and other technical information in relation to ecological and restoration based projects and outcomes, and contributing to the development of scientific reports. The role is also required to consult and collaborate with a broad range of staff from DEW, Landscape Boards, Non-Government Organisations, Universities and other NRM agencies.

Contract:
This is a merit pool and successful applicants may be offered a role over the next 12 months based on business needs.
Essential Qualifications:
A tertiary qualification in environmental science, natural resource management or equivalent is essential.
Special Conditions:
May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties.
A current driver’s licence is essential, along with a willingness to undertake four-wheel drive training.
May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel and work outside of the normal hours of work.
Remuneration:
PO2 $88,255 min - $+7,667 max p.a. pro rata for part time hours
