South Island Drywall is a locally owned drywall contractor specializing in drywall installation, steel stud framing, and T-bar ceiling systems. While small in size, we regularly deliver large-scale commercial projects and pride ourselves on being a hands-on, supportive employer with opportunities for growth in the construction trades.
Positions Available
We are currently hiring for the following positions:
Steel Stud Framer – Journeyman
Steel Stud Framer – Apprentice
General Construction Labourer
These roles are ideal for dependable individuals looking to work on commercial construction projects with opportunities for long-term growth and skill development.

Key Responsibilities
Depending on the position, responsibilities may include:
Steel stud framing installation
Assisting drywall and T-bar ceiling installation crews
Reading layouts and assisting with measurements and prep work
Loading, unloading, and organizing materials
Basic material handling and site cleanup
Operating and handling construction tools safely
Following all site safety procedures and company policies
Supporting site supervisors and skilled tradespeople
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications & Experience
Journeyman Steel Stud Framer
Previous commercial steel stud framing experience required
Ability to work independently and read drawings/layouts
Strong understanding of construction safety practices
Apprentice Steel Stud Framer
Some framing or construction experience considered an asset
Willingness to learn and develop trade skills
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
General Labourer
No previous construction experience required — training provided
Physically capable of manual labour in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, punctual, and motivated to learn
Requirements for All Positions
Valid driver’s licence is mandatory
Reliable transportation/vehicle is considered an asset
Ability to work well within a team environment
WorkSafeBC awareness or willingness to complete safety training
