Job Description
Waiter/Steward is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for guests. The role also includes setting up tables, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with billing and order processing.
Key Responsibilities:Guest Service & Order Taking:
• Greet guests warmly and ****** them to their tables.
• Present menus and provide detailed information about menu items, specials, and recommendations.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen.
Food & Beverage Service:
• Serve food and drinks promptly and professionally.
• Ensure proper presentation and correct temperature of food before serving.
• Refill beverages and attend to guests' needs throughout the dining experience.
Table Setup & Cleanliness:
• Prepare and set tables with clean linens, cutlery, glasses, and condiments.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area.
• Clear tables efficiently after guests leave and reset them for the next seating.
Billing & Payment Handling:
• Present bills to guests, process payments, and return change if needed.
• Handle POS (Point of Sale) systems for order entry and billing.
Customer Interaction & Issue Resolution:
• Address guest inquiries, requests, and complaints courteously and professionally.
• Ensure guest satisfaction and escalate issues to the manager if necessary.
Compliance & Safety:
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
• Comply with restaurant/hotel policies and service standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Prior experience as a waiter, steward, or in customer service (preferred but not mandatory).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of food and beverages, including wine pairing, is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tables.
• Basic math skills for billing and order calculation.
