Job Description:
As a Steward, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in our kitchen and dining areas. You will be responsible for washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, as well as ensuring that all areas are kept tidy and organized. This position requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils by hand or using dishwashing machines.
Ensure that all dishes and utensils are properly cleaned, sanitized, and stored according to health and safety regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including dishwashing areas, storage areas, and equipment.
Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in designated areas.
Assist with kitchen prep work, such as peeling vegetables, preparing ingredients, and stocking supplies.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, countertops, and surfaces on a regular basis.
Follow proper cleaning and sanitation procedures to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses.
Assist kitchen staff with other tasks as needed, including food preparation, plating, and serving.
Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a dishwasher or steward in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
