Nestled atop the 12th floor, in Calgary’s vibrant west-end, overlooking the majestic Bow River, Bow & Bend brings the outdoors in as the Bow’s gentle bends mirror the tranquility of this signature 150-seat rooftop restaurant and bar. At its core are the finest culinarians and mixologists eagerly waiting to fulfill our customers’ dreams of an indulgent and refined dining experience. At Bow & Bend, we provide warm and attentive service in a visually stunning environment with an artfully crafted menu, embracing eco-conscious practices, through conscious choices and initiatives.
ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY
We are in search of a positive and dependable Steward, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods, while ensuring the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.
Primary accountabilities include:
Consistently providing the highest quality of service to our customers and staff alike.
Following all kitchen policies, procedures and service standards.
Maintaining sanitation and cleanliness of all areas of the dish room, kitchen aisle, and dock area.
Breaking down trays, setting up dish machine, washing dishware, and sorting/storing all clean china, glass and silver using proper procedures.
Emptying trashcans, washing them inside and out.
Being aware of soap consumptions and costs.
Breaking down dish machine and cleaning inside and out.
Always operating equipment safely and according to policy.
Cleaning all breakdown tables.
Assuring proper cutting boards, micro clean, gloves are being used during the shift.
Making sure all deliveries are put away and rotated.
Cleaning tile walls and baseboards.
ABOUT YOU
Someone with dishwashing or cleaning experience in a similar restaurant operation.
Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, with a strong commitment to safety.
Able to follow oral and written instructions.
Able to work well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
Able to work with chemicals and cleaning supplies.
Understanding of WHMIS.
Excellent communicator who values teamwork and collaboration.
Able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physically able to stand for long periods of time and lift or carry objects up to 40 pounds or more.
