Position Summary
This role is to oversee and manage the site’s entire inventory to align with business demands and operational requirements. Regularly review stock levels to ensure they meet production and fulfilment needs.
This Is Where You Come In
As a Stock Controller you will Investigate discrepancies in inventory counts by analysing data from the WMS along with conducting physical stock checks and collaborating with relevant teams.
Our Ideal Person
• Proven experience in warehouse or inventory management.
• Proficient in using WMS and Excel or other spreadsheet software.
• Strong understanding of stock control processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly in a warehouse setting.
• Willingness to collaborate with different teams to overcome warehouse challenges and maintain a smooth operation.
• Takes initiative in conducting random stock checks and identifying potential problems early.
• Experience conducting cycle counts and stock audits would be desirable.
In This Role, You Will
Manage and update inventory spreadsheets to ensure accurate stock levels: Regularly input, track, and monitor stock data across multiple categories in inventory management software. Perform periodic audits to verify data accuracy, ensuring that stock levels reflect actual warehouse inventory at all times. Generate reports that highlight trends, potential shortages, and restocking requirements.
• Resolve daily stock discrepancies quickly and effectively: Investigate discrepancies between physical stock and recorded inventory, identifying the root cause (e.g., data entry errors, damaged goods, incorrect deliveries). Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to rectify inconsistencies in a timely manner to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Act as the go-to contact for warehouse stock concerns, such as pallet safety, over/under stocks, and racking space: Serve as the primary liaison between warehouse teams and management for stock-related issues. Address concerns related to pallet safety (e.g., damaged or unstable pallets), ensure stock levels are within acceptable limits, and optimize racking space to prevent congestion or stock misplacement.
• Maintain the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and handle daily cycle counts: Oversee the functionality and integrity of the WMS by ensuring data is entered correctly and system updates are applied as needed. Conduct daily cycle counts to verify stock accuracy for a specific portion of inventory, ensuring discrepancies are identified and addressed immediately.
• Ensure stock is stored in the correct areas: Work closely with warehouse staff to make sure all stock is placed in the designated areas according to warehouse layout and safety protocols. Label and categorize stock correctly to facilitate efficient picking, packing, and dispatching processes.
• Conduct random stock checks and report findings within 24 hours of receipt: Perform unscheduled inventory audits on random product lines to verify stock accuracy and identify potential issues before they escalate. Analyze and document findings in a detailed report, submitting it to management within 24 hours for review and action.
• Adhere to safety protocols: Comply with all established safety guidelines related to stock handling, including proper use of equipment, securing heavy or hazardous materials, and following protocols to avoid injuries or damage. Ensure that the warehouse adheres to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
