Key Responsibilities:
Trade Execution and Management
● Execute buy and sell orders for equities, derivatives, bonds, and other financial instruments in line with fund strategies.
● Ensure trades are executed at the best available prices, considering market conditions and fund objectives.
● Monitor and manage order books to ensure timely and accurate execution.
Market Monitoring and Analysis
● Continuously track market trends, stock prices, and macroeconomic indicators to provide real-time updates to the investment team.
● Identify market opportunities and recommend actionable trading strategies to the portfolio manager.
Compliance and Risk Management
● Ensure all trades comply with SEBI regulations, internal investment guidelines, and risk parameters.
● Monitor position limits, exposure levels, and leverage to prevent breaches of regulatory or internal limits.
Broker Relationship Management
● Maintain strong relationships with brokers, exchanges, and other intermediaries to ensure access to liquidity and competitive trading terms.
● Negotiate brokerage fees and optimize trading costs to improve fund performance.
Record-Keeping and Reporting
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date trade records for audit and compliance purposes.
● Prepare detailed trade execution and performance reports for the portfolio manager and compliance team.
Other Responsibilities
● Support the fund manager in liquidity management and cash flow planning.
● Assist in developing and optimizing execution strategies for high-frequency or complex trades.
● Stay updated on regulatory changes and market developments to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
● Certifications such as CFA, FRM, or NISM (preferably Series VIII) are a plus.
Experience:
● 3-5 years of experience as a stock dealer, trader, or in a similar role within AIFs, hedge funds, or institutional trading desks.
● Demonstrated expertise in equity and derivative markets is required; experience with arbitrage strategies is a plus.
Technical Skills:
● Proficiency in trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, or similar tools) and order management systems.
● Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
● Familiarity with SEBI regulations, position limits, and compliance requirements for AIFs.
Behavioral Skills:
● Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with brokers and internal teams.
● High level of integrity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
