Job Description
As Storage Administrator, you have to provide high-level technical expertise in the area of storage administration. Install and administrate storage environments and apply configuration and policy to storage. Further, this individual would be responsible to ensure that the established processes to meet the regulatory and G&D corporate security requirements are respected and optimized, in a fast paced and critical environment. You need to develop the strategy and ensure the operation, integration into the infrastructure services and interact with the business to ensure a maximum of usability.
The Storage Administrator can expect mid to high complexity in the technology field dedicated to our Stability and Scalability program assisting in relocation our current Datacenters to CoLo facilities. Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Work with MUC Storage Admins and DBAs to optimize storage, backup, restore & replication.
• Perform activities related to install, configure and manage SAN/NAS storage devices.
• Review storage performance and efficiency and provide productive recommendation.
• Manage storage-based systems and the deployment of company’s storage technologies.
• Analyze and resolve replication related complex storage problems, across the enterprise.
• Conduct bottleneck evaluation to identify performance issues in production environment.
• Ensure backup configuration is adequately configured and disaster recovery in place.
• Perform file and block level configuration management for storage environment.
• Provide storage architecture upgradation recommendations for project integration.
• Oversee IO performance of production along with development of databases LUNs.
• Develop and maintain records for entire storage systems as well as FC systems.
• Manage NetApp snapshot as well as recovery methods for storage volumes.
• Expertise in qualifying HBAs, solid state drives and storage subsystems.
• Understanding of latest I/O technologies including 10Gb Ethernet, PCoE, PCIe, etc
• Hands on experience in debugging and fixing production related problems that are escalated
• Collaborate with DBA and Ops team to assure appropriate storage usage and space cleanup.
Education & Trainings + Certifications
• University Degree and Certifications in the technology related field.
• Training & Certification in NetApp and HP Primera Storage platforms.
• ITIL Certifications
• Knowledge of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard is desirable
Technical know-how
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and maximum excellence
• Experience in managing storage systems from vendors such as NetApp & HPE
• Understanding of storage protocols such as NFDS, CIFS, iSCSI, FC, FCoE, etc.
• Experience in troubleshooting Windows Server, complex computing platforms
• Exposure with involving virtualization, distribution, and high availability solutions
• Knowledge of existing industry standards, technologies, and operational norms.
• Experience with virtualization and Linux OS
• Experience with storage systems including SAN and NAS arrays, and cutting-edge technologies
