Job Description
2. A store manager must meet the monthly, quarterly, or annual sales goals, depending on the Retail Manager/Location Head instructions. This involves setting individual sales goals (quotas), holding contests for employees, or offering sales promotions.
3. A store manager should motivate his or her team to achieve the target set for the store. A store manager should set an example for his or her subordinates to follow.
4. Create business strategies to attract new customers, expand store traffic and enhance profitability.
5. Own end-to-end LMS in coordination with team members. Should have the latest data/ report available at any given moment of time.
6. Work closely thru reporting manager with various demand generation departments – Business, Marketing and Vendor team to generate enough leads to achieve sales budgets.
7. Managing & controlling staff, and planning are essential points of the store manager.
a. Ensure on-time opening of the store, Responsible for planning weekly offs, controlling absence of Manpower and extending the showroom time beyond the work hours until the last customer leaves the store.
b. Ensure discipline in terms of store opening(s)/ closure & breaks
c. It is his responsibility to delegate responsibilities to his subordinates according to their specializations and extract the best out of them.
d. Maintaining Timing & Leave Record of the Employees
e. Provide training to improve the knowledge base of the staff and utilize cross-training methods to maintain productivity when employees are absent
8. The manager must ensure staffing levels are adequate to effectively operate the store, and ensure employees receive training necessary for their job responsibilities.
+. Maintaining statistical and financial records
10. The store manager is responsible for maintaining the overall image of the store. It is his duty to sensibly display the merchandise so that it immediately catches the attention of the customers. He must be in coordination with Housekeeping to maintain ambience of the store.
11. Ensure all facilities in the store are working to full capacity – if not coordinate with Facilities & ensure they are rectified. The Stores Manager should have an eye on ;
i. The store is kept clean
ii. Shelves and racks are properly stocked and products do not fall off the shelves.
iii. The merchandise should be according to the season as well as the latest trends.
iv. The store is well lit, ventilated and offers a positive ambience to the customers.
v. The signage displaying the name and logo of the store is installed at the right place and viewable to all. Ensure planogram and demo videos are displayed during store hours.
vi. One of the major responsibilities of the store manager is to make the customers feel safe and comfortable in the store. It is his key responsibility to make sure that the customer leaves the store with a pleasant smile.
vii. He is responsible for managing the assets of the store. The security and safety of the store is his responsibility. The store manager must ensure that sufficient inventory is available at the store to avoid being “out of stock”.
viii. He along with his subordinates are responsible for planning, managing profit and loss, handling cash at the store as well as collating daily sales as well as other necessary reports.
12. The store manager must ensure that his store meets the expectations of the customers and lives up to its predefined brand image.

16. Problem solving, handling unusual circumstances
17. To understand the customer service principles
18. To handle problems and queries of customers. Sole owner of any customer escalation till resolution.
1+. Online feedbacks (positive & negative) of the store should be discussed with reporting manager and addressed.
20. Complete store administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
21. Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
22. Report on buying trends, customer needs, profits etc
23. Maintaining Store Harmony
24. Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements
25. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
26. Up to date product/ technology on Company’s product portfolio
27. Manage all controllable costs to keep operations profitable
28. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
2+. Sound knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word & MS Excel required. Knowledge on MS PowerPoint (Optional). Sound knowledge of Companies ERP (Simplicity) – For stock inward/ outward and invoicing.
