Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Raw Material Officer to join our team at our biscuit manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all raw materials required for biscuit production are effectively sourced, managed, and monitored to maintain smooth production processes and meet product quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
• To receive the materials ordered by the purchase department and supplied by the vendors in compliance to “BIL Operational Health & Safety” and “Commercial Weighment SOP”.
• To ensure the correctness in the quantity, specifications, condition, batch of the materials received from vendors.
• To stock the materials batch wise received from vendors properly as to ensure easy access identification, verification, handling, maintenance etc.
• To ensure proper stocking & storage of materials by using appropriate method of care and preservation to avoid any damage and loss.
• To ensure a smooth issue of materials to the issue department.
• To ensure accurate accounting of the materials received and issued in system and physical records.
• To ensure a favourable working atmosphere is maintained for the personnel working in the store.
• To ensure proper safety measures are taken for the safety of the store building, materials in the store and the men working in the store. (non negotiable)
• To ensure that the store is always maintained up to date in all respects in a presentable condition.
• Conduct regular checks and audits of raw materials to ensure compliance with food safety and quality regulations.
• Report any quality issues with raw materials to the Quality Control and Production teams for prompt resolution.
• Ensure accuracy of documentation (delivery challan/e waybill/gate pass, etc) for to and fro movement of materials from/to HIRE.
• Ensure accuracy of recording of materials from/to HIRE in SAP and register/excel.
• To take appropriate action for care and preservation of the materials.
• To carry out periodical review/disposal for the unserviceable materials through offline/online rejections, write off, insurance, transit damage & etc.
• MIS reports pertaining to Raw & packing materials on a regular basis for aging & shelf life, daily gate entry vs GRN status, helper availability status, solution manager and pending notifications.
• Maintenance of scrap records, scrap invoicing & and hygiene up to date of scrap yard.
• Physical disposal of scrap items in presence with due diligence.
• Ensuring accurate updation of empties masters as per actual packaging size.
• To attend to time based audits for Stores and also carry out surprise audits as per need.
• Zero expiry of Raw materials and zero write off for PM’s in sync with Planning/Purchase team.
• Ensure BIL adherence to BIL Safety norms at all times (non negotiable).
Key Skills & Qualifications
• Educational Background: M.Com/MBA/B.Com with 0-4 years of industry experience in Stores.
• Systems skills: Microsoft Advanced Excel/Word/ PowerPoint proficiency (familiar with Pivot tables/vlookup/advanced excel functions etc and working with large database). SAP Proficiency for in-warding materials, purchase order check, material issue in SAP, stock in transit review, out-warding materials for IFT/Sales etc.
• Soft skills: Ability to communicate well & leading from the front.
