The opportunity:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Stores Controller to join our team at Visy Glass, Penrose, Auckland. The primary purpose of the Stores Controller is to supervise the Glass plant store onsite and manage all goods inwards and outwards at the Auckland Glass Manufacturing Facility, ensuring operational efficiency and cost control, by Company policy and procedures. This role supports the plant's production needs through strategic material management, collaboration with stakeholders, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Maintain accurate inventory records in SAP and ensure proper stock handling
Inspect incoming goods and verify against purchase orders
Conduct regular stocktakes and manage inter-branch transfers
Monitor and control off-site equipment movements
Perform supplier compliance audits to uphold quality and safety standards
Collaborate with departments to review reorder levels and support purchasing decisions
Drive process improvements and support cost-saving initiatives
What you will bring to the team:
5+ years in inventory management, or related roles within manufacturing or industrial environments.
Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.
Year 13 or equivalent
Forklift Licence
Strong analytical skills for managing inventory and forecasting.
Excellent supplier relationship management, negotiation, and compliance audit skills.
High attention to detail for inventory accuracy and contract management.
Proactive problem-solving and effective prioritisation of competing demands.
Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.
