We’re seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Strategic People Partner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll lead a team of People Partners to strategically shape data-led people outcomes. These outcomes are designed to underpin our business strategies and enhance the overall employee experience at Auckland Council. More specifically, your key responsibilities will be to:

Lead a team of portfolio-based People Partners

Collaborate with stakeholders to consistently deliver value-added services

Develop leadership capabilities through talent management, succession planning, and team effectiveness

Craft change strategies in line with our organisational design principles, enabling business transformation

Forecast talent trends and create solutions to maximise business outcomes

He kōrero mōu: About you

We’re looking for a senior human resources generalist with proven experience leading people partners with a solutions-mindset, and a focus on outcomes. This role is about adding value at a Strategic HRBP level through leadership and executive stakeholder management. To be successful you’ll possess excellent influencing skills and the ability to provide open, honest, and direct feedback. More specifically, we are keen to engage with individuals with a professional profile that closely matches the following:

Leading a generalist HR team in a large complex organisation

Stakeholder management (executive leadership and working with unions)

Business transformation and change projects

Facilitation and coaching

Knowledge of HR Agile (preferred)

A relevant tertiary degree qualification

In addition to the above, a good understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government, including current and future business drivers and statutory requirements would be advantageous, but not essential.
