About the Role:

The Strategic Project Projects ANZ is responsible for leading and delivering complex, cross-functional programs that support Thermo Fisher Scientific’s growth, operational excellence, productivity and transformation agenda across Australia and New Zealand.

This role will manage end-to-end project delivery across initiatives covering topics such as our footprint optimisation, our operation networks, our service organisation or our overall sustainability impact. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, governance discipline, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects across functions, vendors, and locations.

What You'll Do:

Project Delivery & Governance

Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of strategic ANZ projects in line with Thermo Fisher Scientific project management standards.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets tracking, risk registers, and dependency maps.
Establish clear project governance, decision forums, and escalation pathways.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within approved budget.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Act as the central point of coordination across multi-functional teams including Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Quality, EHS, Procurement, and external partners.
Engage senior leaders and project sponsors with clear project status updates, risks, and recommendations.
Facilitate workshops, steering committee meetings, and cross-functional working sessions.
Change Management & Communication

Support change management activities associated with operational and workplace changes.
Develop and execute communication plans to ensure impacted stakeholders understand scope, timing, and impacts.
Proactively manage resistance and risks associated with change initiatives.
Vendor & Partner Management

Coordinate activities with external vendors, consultants, landlords, construction partners, and 3PL providers.
Ensure vendor deliverables align with contractual commitments, timelines, and quality standards.
Strategic & Real Estate Projects

Manage real estate and footprint change projects, including:
Large change programs to warehousing infrastructure.
Office space consolidation, relocation, or redesign.
Service workshop establishment, relocation, or optimization.
Coordinate site readiness activities including IT, EHS, security, facilities, and operational readiness.
Partner with Global and local Real Estate, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, IT, Quality, Procurement, and EHS teams to ensure alignment and ensure delivery to milestones.
Risk, Compliance & Safety

Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including operational, regulatory, and safety considerations.
Ensure compliance with Thermo Fisher Scientific policies, Quality standards, and EHS requirements.
Partner with Quality and EHS teams to support audits, validations, and regulatory readiness where required.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

On-time and on-budget delivery of assigned projects
Stakeholder satisfaction and engagement
Effective risk management and issue resolution
Successful operational handover and business readiness
Compliance with governance, EHS, and Quality standards
Qualifications & Experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, or related discipline
Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) preferred
Experience

10+ years of experience preferably delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives leading project management
Demonstrated experience managing transformation projects preferably covering real estate, logistics, supply chain, employee experience or operational change programs
Experience working with 3PL transitions and/or warehouse network changes preferred
Proven experience working in matrixed, global organizations
Experience within regulated or operationally complex environments preferred

Financial acumen including budget and cost tracking
Comfortable working across multiple projects and priorities
High level of organization, attention to detail, and accountability
Working Conditions & Travel

Occasional domestic travel across ANZ as required
Limited international collaboration with global teams
