Structural Concrete Carpenter

We are looking for experienced carpenters with direct hands-on experience in various structural concrete applications but primarily in freeform, cam-lock & redi-rod/coil-rod systems.

Task Concrete is looking to add experienced structural concrete carpenters, who will participate in various commercial & industrial projects.

Examples of the types of work that will be performed are footings, foundations, grade beams, piles, pile caps, pedestals, drainage & utility chambers, thrust blocks/collars, structural pads, wing walls, ramps, pits/sumps, outfalls, weir walls, retaining walls, culvert end treatments, etc.

In addition, some flat-work projects may be mixed in with the structural projects listed above.

Role Requirements:

Must have a VALID Class 5 Non-GDL driver's license

Must have a CLEAN 3-year driver's abstract

Must have CSTS 2020 & WHMIS 2015 (Free online ASCA tickets)

Willingness & ability to work extended hours, weekends, & out of town as required

3+ years preferred experience as concrete carpenter in structural form-work

Prior experience within civil construction industry is an asset

Ability to use all required basic hand tools & power tools with competency for the needs of this position

Ability to listen, follow directions, prioritize, & effectively use work time

Flexibility, adaptability, & creative problem solving

Ability to read, interpret, & troubleshoot blueprints, drawings, plans, etc.

Role & Responsibilities:

Build & layout forms using a variety of dimensional lumber, plywood, form-ply, & puck-board materials per supervisor instruction or drawings

Installation of cam-locks, snap-ties, stiff-back clamps, coil-rods/redi-rod assemblies, adjustable & non-adjustable braces, forming pins, & other improvised or pre-fabricated forming components

Layout & tying of reinforcement both in standard reinforcement & prefabricated reinforcement assemblies of varying diameters

Participate in concrete placement, finishing, & aftercare processes as part of a team of labourers, finishers, & carpenters

Stripping, disassembly, & cleaning of form-work

Patching, sacking, & aftercare of concrete

Continuous general site housekeeping in the form of tools, materials, & debris cleaning & organization

Other duties as assigned or required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

FLATWORK Concrete Forming: 1 year (preferred)

General STRUCTURAL Concrete Forming: 3 years (required)

Freeform STRUCTURAL Concrete Forming: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

Class 5 Non-GDL Licence (required)
