Responsibilities
Create complete, high quality, safe, accurate and cost-effective design calculations for metal building structures provided by NBG while maintaining committed schedules
Provide “Value Engineering” when designing projects to maximize profitability while considering manufacturing capabilities and ease of construction
Review shop and erection drawings for accuracy
Seal drawings and calculations as required
Provide technical expertise through phone conversations, in-person meetings, emails, and letters
Provide innovative and creative solutions for field issues and modifications
Periodic travel as required to meetings, job sites, and other Nucor divisions
Keep up with current building codes through organized training sessions and self-study
Effectively respond to questions and comments from building officials and field inspectors
Develop leadership skills, develop relationships with customers and teammates, maintain a “can-do” attitude

Structural Design Engineer
NBG West, a Division of Nucor Corporation, is seeking applications for a position as a Design Engineer at our office in Lathrop, CA. Annual salary ranges from $80,000-$++,600 plus significant bonus incentives.
Basic Job Functions:
• Create complete, high quality, safe, accurate and cost-effective design calculations for metal building structures provided by NBG while maintaining committed schedules.
• Provide “Value Engineering” when designing projects to maximize profitability while considering manufacturing capabilities and ease of construction.
• Review shop and erection drawings for accuracy. Seal drawings and calculations as required.
• Provide technical expertise through phone conversations, in-person meetings, emails, and letters.
• Provide innovative and creative solutions for field issues and modifications.
