About the Team:
The Data Center Design Engineering team is now looking for a Structural Engineer to drive design, construction and implementation of enterprise data center buildings, which meet strict quality and performance levels. As a member of the Structural Engineering arm of the Design Engineering team, you be expected to leverage your structural knowledge with not just your immediate Structural Engineering colleagues, but the broader design and delivery teams are a whole.
About the Role:
In this role, you will drive Structural Engineering services design, construction, and implementation of enterprise data centers, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards across the globe. You will work directly with our Design Engineering Stakeholders, Construction, Operations, and Commissioning teams within your assigned region in APAC. You will be the Structural Engineering representative on behalf of the Data Center Engineering Team, responsible for the successful delivery of projects. You will assist in Data Center site selection, planning, and development, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with building codes and regulations. You will maintain the highest performance standards and utilize innovation to enhance structural efficiency, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
Main Responsibilities:
The Structural Engineer's main responsibility will be to develop and maintain design standards, design prototypes, and produce template specifications for each site design's requirements. You will also be expected to communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before and during construction.
Other Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Due Diligence teams to establish site selection criteria and create, review, and release design Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
• Oversee external structural design consultants throughout the design and construction phases, as well as collaborate with internal and external MEP, Construction and AWS Operations teams.
• Travel for site evaluations, internal design meetings, construction reviews, and liaising with relevant authorities. Anticipated travel is approximately 20%
About You:
We're looking for a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and has a track record of delivering results. The ideal candidate will be have an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering and minimum 10 years of experience in structural design. Minimum 4 years leading large structural projects is required.
