Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Supervise & guide structural engineers and drafters and having full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, execution complex assignments.
• Prepare scope of work and budget estimates, and monitor progress.
• Independently handling, decision making, communicating with other discipline leads on the assigned projects.
• Acts as mentor for Engineers & drafters
• Forecast workload and schedules.
• Develop structural design criteria for projects.
• Prepare structural design calculations and check calculations.
• Direct the development of structural drawings. Coordinate design with other disciplines.
• Review or write specifications. Develop new specifications as needed.
• Perform engineering services during construction, including review of shop drawing submittals and response to contractor questions.
• Design & provide solution to the modification of existing structures
• Conduct condition assessments of existing structures and prepare reports.
• Manage tasks on large projects or manage number of small projects.
• Participate in new business development.
• Actively participate in sharing your knowledge with other members in the group
Qualifications
• 15-20 years of experience with projects similar in function, size and scope to the description above.
• Project experience in commercial, residential, retail, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, aviation sectors will be helpful.
• Undergraduate degree (Master’s highly preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
• Strong technical skills with proficiency in RCC, PT and structural steel design and detailing.
• Knowledge of Indian codes is mandatory. Familiarity with US, BS, Eurocodes will be necessary.
• Working knowledge of current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Willingness for programming, macros & Excel design sheets is desirable, though not mandatory.
• Ability to understand working with design automation tools and such approaches is must.
• Interest in working with Rhino, Grasshopper, Python coding will be a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Time management and people management skills are essential
• Client communication and interaction skills should be highly developed
• Understanding of the project life cycle and working out project plan for staffing, delivery and financial health of the project is required.
