Job Summary
The Student Immigration Coordinator supports the institute's compliance with federal immigration regulations related to non-immigrant student and scholar visa programs. This role assists with regulatory updates, administrative coordination, and interdepartmental collaboration to ensure a seamless experience for international students and scholars. The coordinator also serves as an institute liaison to federal agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Department of State (DOS).

Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Process certificates of eligibility for student visa holders.

Job Duty 2 -
Provide ongoing support for government-mandated compliance and reporting related to hosting non-immigrant student and scholar visa holders.

Job Duty 3 -
Manage communications efforts, including newsletters, social media accounts, and other outreach initiatives for the international student and scholar services team.

Job Duty 4 -
Coordinate advising events and offer guidance on topics such as visa benefits, international travel, and maintaining lawful status.

Job Duty 5 -
Support the development and facilitation of informational and cultural engagement programming for visa holders and campus stakeholders.

Job Duty 6 -
Manage purchasing records and transactions for the international student and scholar services team, including ongoing tracking and reconciliation.

Job Duty 7 -
Conduct required reporting in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).

Job Duty 8 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma, GED, or Vocational School Diploma. Vocational Training/Degree may be preferred or required (some profiles may require additional education).

Other Required Qualifications
A person in this position will be required to be a Designated School Official approved by the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services. This designation can be obtained after being hired for the position.

Required Experience
Three or more years of relevant experience in immigration advisory at a US college or university.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
One year of experience supporting international students or scholars with immigration and visa matters. Familiarity with Banner and/or SEVIS

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent.
