Full Time Fixed term until August 2026 – ideal for a new candidate or as an excellent secondment opportunity for an experienced Student Placement Officer

Opportunity to deliver a comprehensive range of administrative and operational support for student placements within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences

Base Salary $103,185 - $111,237 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

Join us in shaping real-world learning experiences in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences by coordinating student placements and building strong, collaborative relationships with our valued industry partners. Significant focus will be placed on placement compliance, ensuring high-quality, impactful experiences for our students and providers alike.

Currently there is a requirement for this position to be on-site a minimum of 3 days a week, with a 2 day a week hybrid working. Hybrid working options will be decided with your manager if you are successful in this position.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

negotiate, source and coordinate student placement opportunities

liaise with internal and external stakeholders to organise placements

provide support to academic staff to ensure placements are effectively managed

use the SONIA placement management software to ensure placements are processed and delivered efficiently

offer assistance to both students and placement providers, ensuring a high-quality, client-focused service

assist in Faculty compliance tasks to ensure high quality experiences

support the collection and verification of data for Faculty audit and compliance reviews

About you

demonstrated proficiency in using the SONIA placement management system

demonstrated administrative experience, ideally within a tertiary education setting

highly effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage tactfully with a wide range of stakeholders

proven problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues

ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement in a professional context

excellent time and workload management skills, with a clear track record of prioritising tasks, managing competing deadlines and delivering outcomes

strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all aspects of work
