Job Description
We are seeking a Summer 2026 Visual Storytelling & Studio Intern (Chicago) to join a hands-on production environment focused on real-world content creation.
Interns will film behind-the-scenes footage, capture unscripted emotional moments, and assist in producing publishable photo and video content centered on rescue animals and adoption storytelling. Work includes on-set shooting, studio support, and active participation in ongoing production work.
Candidates should already have experience with photography or video production and be comfortable using DSLR or mirrorless camera systems (or equivalent). This is not an entry-level training program—interns are expected to operate independently on shoots while continuing to refine technical and storytelling skills.
The internship is led by Candice, a former Chicago Tribune photojournalist with 11 years of experience and a background teaching at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Interns will receive direct mentorship focused on capturing authentic, unscripted moments and strengthening visual storytelling technique.
This is an active production role. Interns will be filming, assisting shoots, and contributing directly to content intended for publication.
Please include a link to your photography or video portfolio when applying.
