This is a pool recruitment process (Ref 01189). This pool will run for a period of twelve (12) months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities (full time).

Currently there is one (1) permanent, full-time, Level 2, Summons & Subpoena Support Officer vacancy available.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Level 2 – Summons & Subpoena Support Officer – This position provides support to the summons and subpoena function within the Legal Services Division, ensuring the production of documents and the release of information.

Level 3 - Summons & Subpoena Officer – This position provides high level support to the Summons and Subpoena function within the Legal Services Division, ensuring the production of documents and the release of information.

Organisational skills - Managing and prioritising workloads to meet competing deadlines. Working independently on routine tasks. Taking personal responsibility for accurate and timely completion of work and asking for assistance when required.

Applicants applying for the Level 3 – Summons & Subpoena Officer vacancies are asked to address the following nominated work related requirements in no more than one (1) page:

Problem Solving skills - Analysing information and formulating ideas into written format in a logical and concise manner. Identifying issues and formulating solutions. Analysing, interpreting and understanding law relevant to summons and subpoenas.

Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills and experience relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.

The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.

OTHER CONDITIONS

In addition to the above mentioned vacancies, a POOL is being created to fill future vacancies that may arise within the metropolitan area. This POOL will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial appointment. Applicants who are assessed as ‘suitable’ at the completion of this process, will be placed in the POOL and may be considered for future permanent and temporary vacancies as they become available.

Once an applicant from the POOL accepts a permanent position via this selection process, that applicant will be removed from the POOL. Applicants who accept a temporary vacancy will remain in the POOL and will continue to be considered for permanent opportunities as they arise.

Where an applicant in the POOL declines an opportunity (either permanent or temporary), that applicant may forfeit their right to be considered before other suitable applicants who were identified to be less competitive.

Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
