Summary of Essential Duties:
The Supervisor, Echo Sonography leads the workflow and provides supervision to the Cardiac Echo Sonographers. You will oversee project tasks, recommend improvements to existing procedures/processes, and provide guidance and coaching to the team members. We are seeking an experienced Sonographer to provide leadership in the delivery of patient care and Cardiac Ultrasound within assigned clinical unit(s) and coordinate the delivery of care through the inpatient and outpatient units, procedural areas and the Emergency Department.
• Responsible for supervising day-to-day operations of sonography services within the cardiac unit.
• Works under the delegated authority of the supervising physician and is responsible for the overall daily assignments and schedules for the Echo Sonographers. Supervises the coordination of patient assignments based on staff competencies, including the delegation and assignment patient care tasks and prioritization of workload, considering patient acuity, activity and available resources.
• Ensures equipment is optimal running order and issues are reported to Clinical Engineering and Vendor as appropriate. Follows up on all open tickets for repair, replacement or correction for such things and upgrades, software glitches and recalls.
• Assesses qualifications and interviews potential candidates. Assumes responsibility for the assessment and improvement of current and new staff competencies. When appropriate, will provide orientation, coaching, training, in-services, performance evaluation feedback, mentoring, discipline and termination of employment.
Qualifications
Education:
• Graduate of a diagnostic medical sonography from a program accredited by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography required
• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
Certifications/Licensure:
• RDCS issued by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or RCS issued by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
Experience:
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in cardiac echosonography required
• 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
