## Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and driven Supply and Distribution Manager to oversee the end-to-end management of supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory control, warehousing, and distribution. This role is integral to ensuring goods are sourced, stored, and delivered efficiently in alignment with organisational objectives and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capability, sound commercial judgement, and proven leadership experience to a fast-paced operational environment. You will work collaboratively across departments to drive continuous improvement and maintain cost-effective, reliable supply chain performance.

## Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and monitor supply chain strategies, policies, and operational plans to ensure the efficient procurement, storage, and distribution of goods across the organisation
- Prepare and manage inventory plans to maintain optimal stock levels at minimum cost, balancing supply availability with demand forecasting and budgetary requirements
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring agreements meet the organisation's quality, cost, delivery, and compliance standards
- Oversee inventory and storage systems, conducting regular reviews to identify inefficiencies, reduce waste, and ensure stock levels align with operational requirements
- Maintain accurate recording systems to track all movements of supplies and finished goods, ensuring timely re-ordering and re-stocking to prevent shortfalls or excess inventory
- Liaise with internal departments, logistics partners, and customers to coordinate the timely dispatch and transportation of outward goods, resolving any supply or delivery issues proactively
- Supervise and direct the day-to-day activities of supply chain and warehouse staff, monitoring performance against KPIs and providing coaching and development support
- Oversee the accurate recording and reporting of procurement, storage, and distribution transactions, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal controls
- Identify and implement process improvements across the supply chain to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery outcomes
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, freight carriers, and warehousing partners to ensure service level agreements are consistently met
- Prepare regular reports and analysis on supply chain performance, inventory status, and cost metrics for senior management review
- Ensure all supply chain and distribution activities comply with relevant workplace health and safety legislation, environmental standards, and company policies

## Required Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in a supply chain, logistics, or distribution management role, with at least five years in a supervisory or managerial capacity
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, demand planning, and procurement processes
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems, with the ability to interpret and act on data-driven insights
- Excellent negotiation skills with a proven ability to manage supplier relationships and contractual agreements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience in identifying inefficiencies and implementing effective solutions
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Solid understanding of warehousing operations, freight logistics, and distribution network management
- High level of attention to detail and organisational ability, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with relevant Australian regulatory requirements, workplace health and safety obligations, and industry compliance standards

## Preferred Qualifications

- Postgraduate qualification or professional certification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Operations (e.g. APICS CSCP, CIPS, or equivalent)
- Experience working within a manufacturing, retail, or FMCG environment at a management level
- Exposure to lean supply chain methodologies, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement frameworks
- Experience managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers and complex multi-site distribution networks
- Working knowledge of customs, import/export regulations, and international freight management within an Australian context
