Position Summary

Responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing hospital supplies and equipment. The Supply Chain associate is also assigned the responsibility of carrying out the functions and duties of the Mailroom.

In addition to performing the essential functions listed below, may also be assigned other duties as required.

Required: High School Graduate.

Valid California Driver’s license with good driving record required

Experience:
Required: Demonstrated clerical and math aptitude.
Preferred: Six(6) month experience in warehousing, store-keeping stock control work, and customer service related.

Skills and Abilities:
Preferred: Working knowledge of medical device/supply terminology.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Accurately checks incoming shipments againsts purchase orders.
Fills orders quickly and accurately from requisitions and pick-lists.
Monitors and maintains par level locations including automated supply stations as required.
Receives, stores, issues and delivers materials, supplies and equipment.
Checks merchandise received for conformity to specifications; reports shortages and damaged goods received and report other discrepancies.
Assists in packaging, marking and shipping merchandise returned for credit, exchange or repair.
Receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail and interoffice correspondence according to a pre-defined schedule.
Duplicates forms and other materials for requesting departments. Maintains recrods of forms duplicated and delivers forms as needed.
Assists in maintaining the warehouse(s) and all mailroom areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
Performs clerical and computer related duties as assigned.

Drives Hospital owned vehicles in order to deliver supplies and pick up returns/daily mail.

Assists in maintaining appropriate records and performs filing and other routine clerical functions. Keep records on all incoming capital equipment within the Healthcare System.

Body mechanics, positioning of equipment / furniture, and repetitive actions can cause employees to experience a variety of physical problems. Employees should follow safe body mechanics as described in hospital education. Employees are encouraged to seek assistance from their supervisor if they feel a task is causing them to experience physical problems. Work site evaluation may be indicated and this should be discussed with manager.

Employees work with a variety of chemicals within the lab setting. Employees receive training upon hire and also are expected to review the Chemical Safety Plan yearly. Employees are expected to follow safe working procedures as instructed.

When appropriate, employees should wear film badges (they are monitored routinely) and use lead aprons, gloves, or shields. Identify and appropriately manage radiation therapy patients and their secretions.

Employees involved in preparation or administration of chemotherapy drugs have potential for exposure. Employees must undergo training in their department and should follow procedures as directed.

It is unknown if significant visual dysfunction results from long-term use of VDT's. Problems may be controlled with control of lighting and glare, the color contrast, and workers should have adequately corrected vision. Employees should seek assistance from their supervisor if they feel VDT is causing problems for them.
