Job Description
The Healthcare Consultant (HCC) is vital to driving significant sales growth within a designated territory serving healthcare professionals (HCPs). As the primary representative of the Company, the HCC focuses on generating new business, expanding existing accounts, and consistently achieving sales targets.
This role demands a results-oriented mindset, blending consultative sales, account management, in-person engagement, and support at HCP conferences. The HCC educates HCPs and their staff on the clinical value of our products, supports their practice implementation, and positions the Company as a trusted partner in epigenetics.
The HCC works closely with cross-functional teams across Inside Sales, Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Customer Support to ensure strong account performance aligned with broader commercial goals.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Growth & Territory Performance
• Drive sales growth by consistently achieving and exceeding targets for sales and territory expansion.
• Create and refine a comprehensive list of target accounts through research and market surveys, identifying relevant HCP practices and opportunities.
• Generate new business through proactive prospecting, cold calling, and converting leads into active accounts.
• Develop and implement a strategic routing plan to ensure thorough coverage of high-value accounts.
• Expand usage of the Company’s product portfolio within existing accounts by identifying opportunities and increasing test volume.
• Craft and execute a territory-level business plan to adapt to current trends and market conditions.
• Monitor performance metrics closely and adjust strategies to ensure consistent overachievement.
HCP Engagement & Practice Support
• Build strong, trust-based relationships with HCPs and staff to promote product adoption and loyalty.
• Deliver compelling clinical and commercial presentations to position our products as essential for patient care and practice growth.
• Customize messaging using the Company’s Features, Advantages, and Benefits (FAB) framework to align with provider needs.
• Address objections and assist providers in overcoming implementation challenges through a consultative approach.
• Support practices in integrating the Company’s products into workflows, maximizing patient adoption and practice revenue.
• Organize educational events for high-value practices to raise awareness of our products and their benefits for patients and providers.
• Represent the Company at conferences and events to enhance visibility and generate new opportunities.
• Achieve quarterly sales targets by balancing new business generation with account expansion.
• Collaborate with Medical Science Liaisons for advanced scientific training when appropriate.
• Stay updated on the latest in epigenetics and longevity research to maintain credibility in provider discussions.
• Coordinate with Inside Sales for optimized account coverage and handoffs.
• Work with Sales Management and Marketing to customize local events and campaigns for the territory.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Market Intelligence
• Partner with Inside Sales, Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Customer Support to foster product adoption and seamless provider experiences.
• Share market insights, feedback, and competitive intelligence to inform strategies and initiatives.
• Conduct activities with urgency and adherence to compliance standards, maintaining accurate activity records in CRM systems.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, healthcare, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3-5+ years of sales experience in diagnostics, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices.
• Proven track record of managing territory growth and consistently exceeding sales quotas.
• Strong ability to communicate scientific concepts simply for HCPs and patients.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory (up to 40-50%).
• Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and exceptional relationship-building skills.
Preferred
• Established network of providers in functional medicine, concierge care, or longevity/wellness clinics.
• Experience launching new diagnostics or advanced health technologies in competitive environments.
• Familiarity with genetics, epigenetics, biological age testing, or related fields.
• Experience with CRM platforms and sales tracking tools.
