Role Purpose
This entry-level role supports the delivery of Youth Options Adult Community Education programs. The role focuses on routine administrative and program support tasks completed under supervision, enabling participants to build foundational office and digital skills in a supportive work environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Assisting with basic program administration and organisation tasks
Supporting enrolment processes, including data entry and filing
Preparing course materials such as printing, collating and organising resources
Assisting with basic scheduling and calendar updates
Supporting routine communication using templates (emails, reminders)
Assisting with data entry, attendance tracking and record keeping
Supporting general office tasks such as scanning, copying and organising files
Entry-Level Scope and Supervision
This role requires no prior experience. Tasks are routine and low-risk, completed under close supervision. The role does not include independent decision-making, financial responsibilities, program delivery or staff supervision.
Training and Wrap-Around Supports
Training and supports are embedded within paid work hours and include task demonstrations, clear instructions, regular check-ins, flexible task pacing and supported reflection on learning and progress.

Participants will demonstrate improved employability and work readiness in the following areas:
Reading Skills: Follow clear instructions, checklists and basic procedures to understand enrolment information, schedules, and routine workplace documentation.
Writing Skills: Complete simple written tasks such as data entry, attendance records, emails and reminders using templates and guidance.
Oral Communication Skills: Communicate politely and clearly with supervisors, colleagues and program participants by asking questions, confirming instructions and providing basic updates when required.
Learning Skills: Develop confidence in learning routine office and administrative tasks through demonstrations, repetition, feedback and ongoing support.
Problem-Solving Skills: Recognise basic issues such as missing information, filing errors or scheduling conflicts and report these to a supervisor for assistance.
Initiative and Enterprise Skills: Show willingness to assist with a variety of routine tasks, take direction positively and contribute effort in a supportive work environment.
Teamwork Skills: Work cooperatively with staff and other participants to support program delivery, shared office tasks and day to day operations.
Planning and Organising Skills: Manage time across set tasks, prepare materials in advance and follow schedules with reminders and supervision.
Self-Management Skills: Build reliability by attending shifts as scheduled, completing tasks as instructed and developing confidence in a structured workplace routine.
Technology Skills: Use basic office technology such as email, calendars, data entry systems, scanners and printers with instruction and supervision.
