About the role
Canberra Recovery Service, located in Fyshwick, operates a 24‑hour residential rehabilitation centre alongside community‑based programs, providing a safe and drug‑free environment that supports individuals in developing healthier lifestyles. The service offers comprehensive assessments, individualised treatment and recovery plans, case management, and a holistic approach to wellbeing that addresses physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual needs through one‑to‑one sessions, facilitated groups and practical living‑skills development.
This part‑time position requires a commitment to rostered days and shifts across 6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm, including some weekend work, with salary and employment conditions in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 3.
How you will make an impact
Provide appropriate support to participants in line with established frameworks and TSA policy and procedure
Assist case workers and nursing staff to address client needs, administer the program, contribute to case plans and provide supervision to participants.
Assist with incoming calls and visitors to the centre
Ensure a safe and substance free environment ensuring risks are identified and managed including de-escalation of situations
Effective relationships are established with clients that encourage self-determination and participation
What you will bring
Knowledge and experience of working within AOD and/or mental health setting
Good understanding of risk management
Ability to work across a 24-hour roster
Experience working with complex needs/co-morbidities
Minimum of Certificate IV level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management) including core AOD Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment).
Availability for a range of shifts including overnight shifts
High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Good planning, organisational, problem solving and evaluation skills.
Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences
A current Australian Drivers Licence
