About the Role
Iris Life Care is seeking a dedicated and confident Disability Support Worker to provide one-on-one support to a male participant living in Kambah. This role suits someone who is calm, patient, and experienced (or comfortable) in supporting individuals with behavioural needs.
You’ll be working independently during set hours (11am–3pm), helping the participant with daily routines, meaningful activities, and safe engagement in the community. This participant already has a strong and consistent team around him. You will only be supporting him for a couple of shifts per week, and you will also receive additional shifts with other clients across our services.
More detailed behavioural information and support strategies will be shared with suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily living support in line with the participant’s needs and goals
Assist with routines, structure, and engagement in planned activities
Follow behavioural support strategies to maintain a safe, predictable environment
Support community access when required
Maintain clear and accurate shift notes
Build positive rapport while maintaining professional boundaries
Who We’re Looking For
Experience working with behaviours of concern (highly desirable)
Confident, patient, and able to remain calm under pressure
Able to follow behaviour plans and implement proactive strategies
Strong communication skills and a respectful, person-centred approach
Reliable, consistent, and able to work independently
Available for the set daily shift from 11am–3pm
Mandatory Requirements (or willingness to obtain)
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card
First Aid & CPR
Driver’s licence (preferred)
