Permanent part time - 25 hours a fortnight
Shifts are Saturday and Sunday (7am to 1pm plus a one hour team meeting on Wednesday week 2)

IDEA Services supports people with intellectual disabilities to enjoy great lives at home and as part of their community.
This is meaningful work where you can be creative and make every day interesting in ways that are important to others. As a Support Worker you will be supporting clients with complex needs, managing risk, ensuring safety, and providing assistance to individuals in developing their independence and acquiring skills for daily living. We are looking for someone physically active who has the resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
No prior experience in the health and disability sector is necessary, but a strong desire to pursue a career as a Support Worker with a positive attitude is highly valued. Full training and orientation will be provided to individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
Previous experience in caregiving or providing personal care for adults would be an advantage.
A calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
Availability to work weekend shifts.
Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
A Full NZ driver's license.
Nōu te rourou | What's in it for you?
$23.84 - $29.10 per hour depending on relevant qualifications, with the ability to earn more as you gain qualifications.
IDEA Services will support you towards completion of the Level 2, 3 and 4 Certificates in Health and Wellbeing qualifications.
